Cumbria Dated Structures Project

This survey is being carried out by history societies and other organisations throughout Cumbria to record date stones.  It is being done for two reasons - to assist people with genealogy and family history research and to make a record of vernacular structures in the county.

Members of the History Society have recently gathered information for this project which was completed in the summer of 2011.  The photographs can be seen at the Heritage Centre.  The information will also be kept by the Cumberland and Westmorland Antiquarian and Archaeological Society.
